Motorized Pallet Truck
A Motorized Pallet Truck usually goes by other names like: Walkie-Rider, Rider or Walkie. These pieces of machinery are basically a motorized type of a pallet jack. They are available in both "Walkie" models as well as "Rider" versions.
Just as the name implies, the walkie type is designed for the operator to walk alongside with the unit while they move loads. The Rider model however, utilizes a small platform for which the operator stands on. The rider models are great for frequent moving of cargo over extended distances within warehouses and manufacturing operations. They are extremely maneuverable and fast.
It is important to remember that there is no safety cage on this model and hence, it is not recommended to move unstable or tall loads using these machines. A rider can be the right answer if you are searching for a cheap method for moving cargo from point A to point B. If though, you are required to transport heavy loads short distances, and prefer to use a more employee-friendly unit instead of a pallet jack, the walkie model could be the right option.
Order Selector
An Order Selector also goes by the name of Order picker. This machinery is particularly designed for manual handling of less-than-pallet-load quantities in racking. There are fixed forks attached to a platform in the Man-up design. This particular platform elevates both the load and the operator in an effort to facilitate manual unloading and loading from racking areas.
Order Selectors are usually very narrow aisle vehicles that can operate in aisles of less than six feet. They are really handy pieces of equipment in cycle counting situations as well as during physical inventories. Order selectors are available in lift heights up to 40 feet high, although models which range in the 20 to 30 foot range are a lot more common.
