SMAG is a German company and world leader in the manufacture and design of Peiner Grapples and Buckets. Our production line consists of hydraulic lifting equipment, electro-hydraulic motor grabs, mechanical motor grabs, a range of other types of specialized lifting devices and single rope radio control grabs.

Up to date, Peiner has provided over 75,000 units throughout the world. Our unique grabs handle a variety of materials from cement, iron ores, coke, fertilizers, refuse and scrap, among a variety of other things. Our years of experience in developing excellent products and the overall designing process helps to enable our customers be given the proven technology their diverse applications need.

SMAG/Peiner has been represented by Peiner USA, Inc. for over 12 years within the US market place. Various industries such as Steel Mills, Waste to Energy, Scrap Handling, Bulk Transfer Facilities and many other material handling facilities are now utilizing our grabs and buckets to accomplish their tasks.

Peiner's design philosophy has always revolved around the idea of producing grabs that deal with the largest volume as opposed to grab dead weight. Typically, the bucket and grab lifting ratio's meaning that 60 percent of material is dead weight versus 40 percent grab dead weight. This means moving more quantities of materials faster. The wear and tear on the crane structure and its related parts is less. By combining high quality materials and innovative design with manufacturing, the weight ration which is desired is obtained.

Grab sizes would vary from 1 cubic yard or less to over 50 cubic yards in order to meet the requirements of the customer. Moreover, Peiner USA Inc. offers a complete service facility and spare parts facility for the units purchased in the United States, along with the addition of brand new buckets and grabs.
