Reach Truck
In order to keep storage places orderly and to pile up pallets of goods and supplies, a reach truck could be used. The reach truck comes in quite a few kinds: the double-deep reach, straddle reach and the stand-up reach.
The stand-up is the most basic. The forks of the truck slide beneath the pallet and move it to the right storage location. The forks slide the pallet into position. This particular type of reach truck is recommended when shelving units are only one pallet deep.
Ideal for workplaces where the shelving units are deep enough to accommodate two pallets of goods, the double-deep reach truck, that is like the stand-up, is frequently utilized. This model consists of telescopic forks designed to put the pallet at the back of the shelving unit. This saves having to push the pallet back when one more pallet has to go into the same shelving section.
Straddle reaches have the additional advantage of being able to not just slide underneath the pallet, but also to grasp the sides. These are recommended for workplaces where shelving units are accessible in many directions. This version is ideal in situations where goods would not be damaged if the sides of the pallet are grabbed.
Within most warehouses, there are usually more than one kind of reach truck. Manufacturing facilities and textile companies use various types of reach trucks in their supply areas. The reach truck is not hard to operate and could make the most of available storage space while increasing production.
